**UPDATE** – Julian

You can now find the completed film Julian over at my website.
I thought I’d post a few pictures of the set of “Julian” as it looked almost as enchanting as the outcome. Maybe I’m biased. I do like twinkle lights.
This week I got the Julian set up and running! The film’s on my site now, and you can see it by clicking here. Here’s just a small test on the animals as they were being worked on. (To be updated with further images.)

Over the past few weeks I’ve been illustrating and assembling a children’s book about a bear called Julian. As a personal experiment I’ve decided to use these illustrations and pop-ups in a new way. I intend to create an animatic rather than a stop-frame animation to tell Julian’s tale.
These pop-up grasses and plants are just some first thoughts of how the set is going to look. I want everything to be as basic as possible, with only colour in the illustrations and paper stock.
I updated yesterday with the start of working on “Emma“. She’s slowly coming along, with all the folds finished and a third of the cuts put in. Here’s a couple more pictures of how the job’s going;
Over the past couple of days I’ve been working on Emma, a new folded book. There’s a combined process of folding and cutting in this book to create the feminine impression of lace and embroidery. Here’s a couple of pictures to show the book being made. I’ll have more up later this week to show it’s progress.
Here you can find updates of current projects.
more coming soon.
